Allergic to The Great State of Texas
I was raised in a great span of land on a country town in Texas. In our backyard, the playground was meadows of bluebonnets, grass, and of course, ragweed. I quickly discovered in my childhood by severe allergic reaction to my home of Texas.
My friends and siblings could be outside for hours, but I was often taken inside to care for my swelling eyes, runny nose, and sneezing fits. At school I couldn’t even sit by the open windows on a hot day. Every spring I felt that I was on the verge of a deathly disease only to have it diagnosed year after year as merely seasonal allergies.
I know I am not the only one who wishes I could enjoy all the spendor of Spring outside in the fresh air, and not looking out of the window from the inside by my air purifier. My entire life objective is to find a sinus relief solution for the entire year round. I don’t want to lose anymore sleep because of the pressure in my forehead and nose, or my clogged breathing passageways.
It must be mention what has been tried. The promise of relief has driven me too many times to the doctor and pharmacists spending thousands on the newest remedy. Especially if you live in Texas, medicine is a necessary cure in fighting off the problematic 24 hour histamines.
But you shouldn’t assume that a prescription is needed to help with your sinus problems. Over-the-counter drugs are often seen as ineffective, but all it means is that they no longer owe money towards their debts for development of the drug and can be sold for a lower price to the masses. Any of these products are useful in fighting against your allergy problem. Does that cover it, though?
If your case is similar to mine, where you are apparently allergic to everything around you, the answer is no, a pill will not suffice. Especially since I forgo taking the stronger decongestants that are accompanied by drowsiness and constant dry cotton mouth. I back my medication up with other products I can tell you about to reduce your exposure to allergens.
First on the list is an air purifier. The prices for this appliance can range from being very affordable to very expensive, depending on what you want. I opted for a Honeywell system that runs easily through all the square footage of my apartment and it only cost me what I saved in not buying nasal sprays for a month. After the first day, I have noticed a substantial difference in my ability to breath, especially during the night.
Humidifiers are an excellent source of nasal moistening. Almost all doctors would recommend this, especially for smaller children. Some nasal sprays need to be used cautiously. They will eventually rob your nose of natural moisture, causing a dependence on them. If you feel the need to, try first a simple saline solution nasal spray.
But, for a more complete nasal cleansing, my new favorite idea is the SinuCleanse. This is doctor developed solution has mastered the art of natural decongesting. It has replaced all other methods of decongesting that I have previously used.
The teapot design is used by filling the product with lukewarm water and a packet or two of the included saline solution, at least morning and night. You then will put the spout up your nose on one side and tilt your head opposite so that the water runs through to the other side, and do it for about 25 seconds, then repeat on the other side. Then you will see the amazing results.
Even when I think my nose is as clean from mucus and snot as it can get, after I use the SinuCleanse, the dam is broken inside my nose releasing all the sinus pressure. I drip my nose clean for the next few minutes and I can breath like I’ve never breathed before. I truly feel a rebirth inside my nose from this device and feel it would adequately suit any person with any nasal issues at all.
Wherever we live, the beautiful land surrounding us doesn’t need to be our enemy. Whether you live in Arizona, Texas, Oregon, or Siam, there is a solution to the allergies around you. Texas especially is abundant with vast acreage and property full of allergens trying to ruin our fun. Enjoy all the plants in your backyard without having it interrupted by one single sneeze.
