Common Allegrens that Cause Allergy!
When a person is sensitive to a substance and this causes the body to react in an adverse fashion, it is called an allergy. The substance causing the allergy is called an allergen and can quite frankly be anything including the sun or even the air itself but the result is usually the same; a physical reaction occurs which can be quite severe.
Common allergens are those found in the food we eat and are also the ones that can cause the most serious of reactions in particular those of the nut family. Milk, soy, corn, and even rice are a few others that might cause allergic reaction with no apparent reason and some people are allergic to processed products and foods.
Food allergies can cause an allergic reaction very quickly in the victim as they affect the body’s immune system, but breathing in particular is the biggest problem with a few people actually allergic to chocolate. Another area of concern is that of seafood which is known to cause serious reactions in some people so are best avoided even if you actually enjoy the food itself which is often the case.
Food allergies often cause reactions which are seen initially as redness, itchy areas of skin and other irritations often quite common to the family of citrus fruits. It is peanut allergies which generally cause the most concern as the reaction to them, even a simple case of contact can be extremely serious and in some cases cause death.
Flowers are one of the most beautiful parts of nature but even these can prove to be dangerous for people who are allergic to pollen formed in certain flowers and even certain kinds of weeds and grass often affect respiratory system which can cause severe damage. Getting rid of plants with flowers around that individual might also help to a great extent but of course this is only if the flowers have been detected as the actual cause of the allergy.
Where a person has an allergic reaction to particular drugs, rashes and other skin problems can be the result but more worrying is where the reactions are internal and may not be seen for some time. It is the component sulfur that causes many of the drug bases reactions and if this happens, a doctor must carefully watch the situation in case the reaction might be repeated with any other prescribed medication.
Although a reaction to nickel is not unusual to most people, a very small number of individuals even have an allergic skin reaction to silver and gold. Generally, the reactions to metal are contact based and usually cause distinctive skin conditions like rashes, swollen skin around the affected area and a change in skin color to red or a purple.
Avoiding metals is one of the easiest allergies to deal with but the same principle applies to all allergies, once you are aware of the cause of the allergic reaction, stay clear of it.
